Competitive Squads
SSDC Squad Dance Teams – 2025
At Street Slamin Dance Centre (SSDC), being part of a competitive squad dance team is an exhilarating and rewarding experience that blends passion, athleticism, teamwork, and personal growth. Our squad dance teams are designed for dancers who are committed to pushing their limits, mastering challenging choreography, and achieving excellence while forming lifelong bonds with their teammates.
All squad members must be enrolled in a SSDC Hip Hop, Jazz and Contemporary class.
Team Structure
• Junior and Intermediate Teams:
Open to all dancers who are eager to learn, grow, and
compete. No prior experience is necessary — just dedication
and enthusiasm!
• Pre-Senior and Senior Teams:
Invitation-only teams for dancers who demonstrate advanced
skills, commitment, and a strong work ethic. These teams
represent the highest levels of competitive dance at SSDC.
All SSDC squads have a strong track record of success,
consistently placing highly at every competition we attend. The
commitment is significant, but the rewards — personal growth,
team achievements, and unforgettable memories — make it
worth every moment.
What It Means to Be on an SSDC Squad
SSDC competitive squad dancers embody our core values of passion, teamwork, dedication, resilience, respect, kindness, and courage. Here’s what it takes to be a part of our squad teams:
• Teamwork:
Success in competitive dance depends on collaboration, trust,
and communication. Every dancer plays an essential role in
creating polished, synchronized routines.
• Dedication:
Excellence requires hours of practice, conditioning, and refining
skills. Dancers are expected to show up, stay focused, and give
100% effort in every session.
• Resilience:
Challenges and setbacks are part of the journey. Our dancers
learn to bounce back, stay positive, and continuously improve.
• Respect:
Respect for coaches, teammates, and competitors is crucial.
This includes listening to feedback, supporting each other, and
demonstrating good sportsmanship.
• Courage:
Whether performing on stage, learning difficult choreography,
or competing at a high level, SSDC dancers’ step outside their
comfort zones with bravery.
• Passion:
A true love of dance fuels every performance. The energy,
enthusiasm, and heart that our dancers bring to the floor are
what make SSDC routines shine. A Commitment Worth Making
Being part of an SSDC squad dance team is a significant commitment, involving regular practices, competitions, and personal growth. However, the rewards — building skills, achieving goals, and sharing victories with your dance family — make it an experience like no other. We can’t wait to see our 2025 squads take the stage and continue the legacy of excellence at Street Slamin Dance Centre!
